Job description
Insight Global is seeking an Architect of AI Intelligence & Platform Engineering for a top enterprise client investing heavily in building a world-class AI platform. This leader will operate as the architect and owner of the organization's foundational intelligence layer-driving context engineering, semantic modeling, governance, and AI safety at scale. Reporting directly to the CIO, this role offers a rare opportunity to build a greenfield enterprise AI platform that moves beyond experimentation into real-world, mission-critical production. The ideal candidate is deeply technical, highly entrepreneurial, and energized by building systems-and teams-that will define how AI operates across the business for years to com.
Day to Day:
- Architect and own the enterprise AI intelligence stack end-to-end
- Design and scale the context engine, semantic layer, and knowledge graph
- Establish standards for prompt engineering, evaluation, and versioning
- Lead AI governance, safety, compliance, and protection frameworks
- Build and manage a high-performing team of 4-6 senior engineers
- Partner directly with the CIO to define multi-year AI platform strategy
- Oversee production delivery, SLAs, and performance metrics (latency, accuracy, hallucinations)
- Evaluate and manage AI vendors, model providers, and toolchain partners Evangelize AI capabilities internally through demos, documentation, and leadership forums
Requirements
- 4-6+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or applied AI/ML
- 2+ years in technical leadership or people management roles
- Deep hands-on expertise building enterprise-scale AI intelligence platforms
- Proven experience with context engineering, RAG architectures, and knowledge retrieval systems
- Strong background in semantic layers, ontologies, and knowledge graphs
- Hands-on experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, pgvector)
- Advanced knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, and agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to architect AI governance, guardrails, auditability, and risk controls
- Track record of hiring, mentoring, and leading senior technical teams (4-6 FTEs) Ability to translate complex technical systems into executive-level strategy and risk narratives
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Background at Palantir Technologies or similar mission-critical AI organizations
- Experience operating AI systems in high-stakes, regulated environments
- Familiarity with NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, MITRE ATLAS, or comparable AI governance frameworks
- Experience building multi-tenant AI platforms with strong access controls and observability
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Industry experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments
