Job description
We are seeking a skilled VDI Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure across Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Citrix environments. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing virtual desktop solutions, with a strong emphasis on vulnerability management and system hardening., Design, deploy, and manage VDI environments across Azure and Citrix platforms
- Administer and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) infrastructure, including host pools, session hosts, and FSLogix profiles
- Support and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, including provisioning, delivery controllers, and policies
Perform vulnerability management activities, including:

Running security scans and assessments Identifying, prioritizing, and remediating vulnerabilities

Partnering with security teams to address risk and compliance gaps

Implement security controls and best practices across VDI environments (patching, hardening, RBAC, MFA)

Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal user experience

Troubleshoot complex issues across virtual desktops, networking, and access layers

Support hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem + Azure cloud)

Automate deployments and configurations using scripting (PowerShell preferred)

Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
Requirements
5+ years of experience in VDI or infrastructure engineering
- 4+ years with hands on Azure (VMs, networking, storage, identity) Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) - - Hands on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops
- Strong background in vulnerability management and remediation
- Experience with system hardening, patching, and endpoint security
- Solid understanding of Windows environments and virtualization technologies
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Knowledge of compliance frameworks NIST, SOC2, CMMC
