Job description

This position will be responsible for assisting the Facilities Information Systems department staff within FM.

  • 75% of time: IT support for Facilities Management. Includes basic tech support functions such as account creation, device set-up and troubleshooting, processing devices for surplus, and assignments in the IWMS system as assigned.
  • 25% of time: Assistance with the following (can be taught the skills required)
  • GIS: gathering field data, minor work in ArcGIS Online
  • CAD: measuring and site-verifying building spaces to compare with campus records.
  • Classroom management: assisting the AV/IT Project Associate with tasks related to managing the general lecture classrooms for Campus.

Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Physical Requirements of this position Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work. Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading., Required to have close visual acuity to inspect small defects, small parts at distances close to the eye., Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. , Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection). The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. , The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity., The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. , The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level., The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. , The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. , The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. , The worker is frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia. , The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.

  • Diagnosis and repair of hardware and software issues on Windows computing devices.
  • Valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Can work independently and manage their own time
  • Diagnosis and repair of hardware and software issues on Apple computing devices.
  • Experience with GPS, GIS, and ESRI products such as ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience reading construction documents. Experience using AutoDesk products.
  • Currently enrolled as a Weber State student
