Network Consulting Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Network Engineer to join our data centre operations on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance for critical services. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently within a dynamic team environment., * Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade network solutions within the data centre.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network-related projects and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with data centre security policies and best practices.
• Provide documentation for network architecture, processes, and incident reports.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical network support if required.

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer in a data centre or enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, VLANs, and network protocols.
• Experience with firewall management, VPNs, and network security best practices.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German proficiency is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

• Duration: 12 months (with potential extension based on project requirements).
• Freelance / Contractor basis.
• Location: On-site in Hesse, Germany (with possible hybrid flexibility depending on client needs).
• Competitive daily rate, commensurate with experience.
