Job description

As Data Architect & Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping Symrise's enterprise-wide data strategy and building the foundation that enables digital and AI transformation at scale. You will lead architectural direction, design modern data solutions, and help create scalable capabilities that support innovation and business growth. Working closely with technology and business teams, you will contribute to building a future-ready data ecosystem across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and drive enterprise-wide data architecture and engineering solutions
  • Define scalable data models, standards, and architectural principles
  • Build and optimize modern data platforms and pipelines to support business needs
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions
  • Lead architectural decisions that support analytics, AI, and digital initiatives
  • Ensure data solutions follow governance, security, and quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Support adoption of modern technologies and engineering best practices
  • Act as a trusted advisor on data architecture and engineering topics across Symrise

Requirements

Do you have experience in Scalability?, You are passionate about designing scalable systems, solving complex challenges, and building strong technical foundations that enable business impact. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy turning strategy into practical solutions.

You also bring:

  • Experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related technical disciplines
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and integration concepts
  • Experience designing scalable data models and enterprise architectures
  • Knowledge of data pipelines, databases, and large-scale data environments
  • Experience working across business and technology teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions
  • Passion for innovation and enabling data-driven transformation
  • Fluent English skills; additional languages are a plus
