A rare Platform Engineering opportunity in consumer tech

Join a profitable European consumer tech scale-up building the future of online shopping.

The product already helps millions of users shop smarter, save money and make better purchasing decisions across thousands of merchants.

The company is a certified B Corp, has reached profitability in its core market, and is now scaling internationally with a strong focus on the US.

The product suite spans cashback, automatic coupons, price alerts, carbon tracking, AI-powered shopping assistance and large-scale e-commerce data.

The Engineering team

The Engineering team solves high-impact technical challenges with a strong focus on product innovation, design quality and production excellence.

Engineers work closely with Product, from exploration and roadmap prioritization to implementation, deployment and iteration in production.

The company is entering a new stage of scale: 500K+ active daily users and strong expectations around reliability, speed, quality and zero-downtime operations.

The role

As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will shape and lead the company's platform efforts.

You will be the first senior engineer fully focused on these topics, turning work currently spread across the team into a clear, reliable and high-leverage platform that helps everyone ship faster and safer.

This is not a pure DevOps or support role. It is a hands-on Staff Engineering role combining strong software engineering foundations, platform strategy, production reliability and cross-team leadership.

What you will do

  • Make production infrastructure more scalable, resilient and reliable
  • Improve runtime reliability, capacity planning, failure modes and zero-downtime readiness
  • Build strong observability: metrics, logs, tracing, SLOs and actionable alerting
  • Improve incident response and on-call quality with low-noise, useful monitoring
  • Optimize architecture around reliability, performance and cloud costs
  • Treat developer experience as a product: CI/CD, releases, environments, automation and golden paths
  • Raise the security baseline: IAM, secrets, least privilege, hardening and security monitoring
  • Define the platform roadmap and lead cross-team initiatives end-to-end Bring structure, standards and mentorship so platform practices become shared across Engineering

Requirements

Do you have experience in CI/CD?, We are looking for a Staff / Principal / very strong Senior Platform Engineer with deep production experience, strong software engineering foundations and the ability to influence engineering practices across teams.Engineering background, as long as you have operated in real-traffic production environments and can combine hands-on execution with staff-level leadership., * Strong production reliability experience: observability, incident response, scalability, reliability patterns and systems with real users

  • Platform / DevEx ownership: CI/CD, release automation, environments, tooling, golden paths and fast feedback loops
  • Strong software engineering foundations: clean, testable, maintainable code and ability to contribute directly to the codebase when needed
  • Cloud and modern infrastructure experience: AWS or equivalent; serverless, IaC and modern deployment patterns are strong pluses
  • Cost / performance mindset: pragmatic trade-offs between reliability, latency, architecture complexity and cloud costs
  • Security fundamentals: IAM, permissions, secrets, least privilege, hardening and pragmatic security monitoring
  • Staff-level influence: roadmap, standards, mentoring, reviews, cross-team initiatives and stakeholder alignment
  • Product-minded approach: sensitivity to user experience, performance metrics and real-world usage at scale
  • Clear communication in English, both written and spoken

This role is probably not the best fit if

  • You are looking for a pure DevOps / ops execution role without software engineering ownership
  • You have mostly worked on infrastructure administration without product, CI/CD, DevEx or architecture impact
  • Your experience is mostly run-only SRE without roadmap, standards or cross-team platform leadership
  • You prefer narrow tickets over ambiguous, high-impact platform problems
  • You are not comfortable operating in English

Benefits & conditions

  • Top-market compensation
  • Equity for everyone, with the chance to own a piece of what you build
  • Flexible remote: office or home if you live in Paris; coworking access and budget if you live elsewhere
  • Work from anywhere from most countries in the world for up to 3 months per year
  • Half-day each week dedicated to leveling up with AI: exploring tools, iterating and sharpening your skills
  • Yearly offsite, team-building budget and monthly in-person gatherings
  • Contribution to your ClassPass subscription
  • 8-week leave paid 100% for the second parent
