Job description
The successful candidate will take responsibility for data compliance, management information systems, funding returns, and the leadership of the administration team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across all service areas., You will oversee the management of MIS systems and data processes across the Adult, Community and Family Learning service. The role requires strong leadership of the Administration Team, ensuring accurate data input, robust reporting, and compliance with Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) requirements., * Lead and manage the Adult, Community and Family Learning Administration Team (4 staff)
- Oversee all MIS systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and reporting
- Ensure compliance with ESFA, Ofsted, and contractual funding requirements
- Manage and submit data returns accurately and within deadlines
- Produce management reports and dashboards to support strategic decision-making
- Liaise with internal MIS teams and external systems (e.g. TERMs, IDAMS, MyESFA)
- Monitor budgets and financial transactions across the service
- Support forecasting, funding claims, and payment-by-results processes
- Provide training and guidance to staff on MIS systems and processes
- Improve and develop data systems, reporting tools, and dashboards
- Ensure GDPR compliance and secure handling of learner data
- Support marketing, communications, and digital content updates for the service
Requirements
- Significant experience in MIS, data management, or business information systems
- Strong background in Further Education, Adult Learning, or similar public sector environments
- Experience managing staff and leading administration teams
- Advanced ICT and data analysis skills
- Strong knowledge of complex databases and reporting systems
- Experience with funding returns and compliance processes (ESFA or equivalent)
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent in ICT, Data, Statistics, Maths, or related field
- Experience with TERMs or similar MIS systems
- ILM Level 3 or willingness to work towards management qualification, * MIS, data management, or business information systems: 2 years (required)
