Job description

The Discretionary Financial Support Services team is looking to recruit a Casework Support Officer.

In this role, you will provide clerical, financial, statistical and customer support services to help deliver Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP), Local Welfare Provision (LWP) and other financial support schemes.

You will support caseworkers by checking applications, processing invoices, ordering goods, recording information and providing help to customers and partner organisations., * Support the processing and quality checking of DHP and LWP applications

  • Raise orders with suppliers, process invoices and maintain financial records using council systems
  • Provide accurate information and support to customers, colleagues and partner organisations
  • Record and maintain statistical information and team performance data
  • Assist with improving processes and supporting the training of new staff

Requirements

Do you have experience in Microsoft Word?, We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You should enjoy helping people and be committed to providing excellent customer service., * At least 2 years previous administrative experience

  • Excellent Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Teams
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Discretionary Housing Payments and Local Welfare Provision
