Job description
As a Network Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in the design, implementation, operation, and continual improvement of the University's network infrastructure. This includes campus and data centre networks, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, firewalls, and remote site connectivity.
Working closely with Senior Network Engineers, Infrastructure teams, and External partners, you will help ensure that the University's network services are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practice and University strategy
Requirements
You will be an experienced network professional with a strong technical background and a proactive, service-focused mindset. You will be comfortable working in a large, enterprise-scale environment and able to balance operational support with project delivery.
Essential experience and skills include:
Practical experience supporting enterprise network environments
Strong knowledge of switching, routing, and wireless networking
Experience working with firewalls and network security controls
Understanding of network monitoring, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting
Experience working within structured IT service management and change control processes
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
You will also hold an Undergraduate degree in a relevant business or systems-based subject or equivalent work experience.
