Job description
A leading global platform is seeking an Advanced Data Scientist to support product and business decision-making for our Host App teams. In this role, you will act as a senior analytics partner, delivering high-impact analysis, experimentation, and reporting to inform product strategy and execution.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused contract designed to accelerate progress on critical analytics needs during a period of constrained capacity. You will be expected to operate independently, partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outputs on defined timelines.
What You'll Do
- Drive Product Insights: Own and deliver advanced analytics for defined product and business domains within the Host App ecosystem.
- Analyze Complex Data: Work with large, complex datasets to answer high-priority business and product questions using statistical, causal, and exploratory techniques.
- Experimentation & Testing: Design, execute, and analyze experiments (A/B tests and quasi-experiments) to measure feature impact and inform product iteration.
- Metric Development: Develop and validate metrics and dimensions to monitor product performance and business outcomes.
- Build Analytical Artifacts: Create and maintain queries, dashboards, and readouts that enable stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Data Science, and Analytics teams to align on methodology, assumptions, and interpretation.
- Strategic Communication: Provide clear, concise insights and recommendations through written and verbal communication, including leadership-ready readouts.
- Leverage Modern Workflows: Utilize AI-assisted tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to increase efficiency and automate repetitive analytical tasks where appropriate.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, or applied quantitative analysis (industry experience required).
- Technical Skills: Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R).
- Testing Expertise: Proven experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments and applying statistical methods to real-world product problems.
- Data Pipeline Familiarity: Experience building metrics end-to-end, including definitions, validation, and implementation in data pipelines.
- Analytical Judgment: Ability to balance rigor with speed and clearly communicate technical tradeoffs.
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver against agreed timelines.
- Communication: Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights for non-technical partners.
- Preferred Context: Experience in two-sided marketplaces, product analytics, or business strategy contexts is strongly preferred. Familiarity with AI-assisted analytics workflows is a plus.
