Job description
We are seeking a strategic and technical leader to Deliver data products and associated AI applications that are aimed at accelerating the Immunology R&D Pipeline. This role reports through the Research & Development Data Science & Digital Health (DSDH), directly to Vice President, Immunology and Cardiopulmonary, DSDH. They will be tasked with leading a team to accelerate and scale the development of foundational enterprise data products, and deployment of a diverse set of scaled AI models and solutions for the entire Immunology therapy area. This role ensures that high-value internal and external Immunology data assets-including preclinical, translational, clinical, competitive intelligence, and real-world data (RWD/RWE)-are standardized, productized, and integrated into Johnson and Johnson's enterprise R&D data ecosystem., * Lead a team to develop technical requirements for Immunology-facing data products that enable AI applications.
- Attract, upskill and retain top talents in the field, manage a technical team, and collaborate with key stakeholders in R&D, DSDH, and Johnson & Johnson Technology (JJT).
- Define and maintain a roadmap for Immunology data products, spanning discovery, translational research, clinical development, and real-world evidence.
- Partner with Knowledge Management, Data Platforms & Governance, and Master Data Management teams to ensure Immunology data products integrate seamlessly into enterprise ontologies, knowledge graphs, and catalogs.
- Lead a team that works with key business partners to develop and deploy impactful and scalable AI solutions for Immunology
- Contribute to the development and governance of an Immunology Ontology to enable semantic consistency across discovery, clinical, regulatory, and real-world data.
- Establish and work with governance models, agile delivery processes, and value-tracking metrics for Immunology data products and AI tools.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $196,000 to $342,700. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD) in disciplines such as Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, Biomedical engineering, Applied Mathematics or similar.
- Minimum of 10 years of post-academic, industry, or equivalent, experience.
- Experience with diverse, high dimensional data sets, such as multi-modal Immunology data, including omics, imaging, translational, clinical trial, and RWE data
- Extensive experience in creating scalable and impactful data-driven solutions, including managing their full life cycle (design, development, testing, deployment, operations & maintenance, etc.).
- Strong experience in people leadership, and ability to work in a matrixed organization
- Deep knowledge of data products, database design, data transformation/mapping
- Excellent communication skills and strategic thinking capabilities., * Experience in the Life Sciences, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical or Medical Tech sector.
- Experience with Immunology Ontology enterprise metadata standards and external frameworks (e.g. CDISC, GA4GH, FHIR, NCI Thesaurus)
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of new data capabilities across a complex organization.
This position will be located on-site at one of our campuses in either Spring House PA, Cambridge MA, Titusville NJ, Raritan NJ, or San Diego, CA (NO fully remote option available).
