Job description

The Manager of BI and Analytics leads the enterprise business intelligence and analytics function for a large, data-driven retail organization. This role owns the design, delivery, and governance of analytics solutions that enable informed decision-making across business units including Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, HR, Operations, and IT. Reporting to a senior technology leader, this position operates as both a strategic leader and hands-on architect, driving modern data platform initiatives and ensuring scalable, high-quality analytics delivery. The Manager, BI & Analytics leads a team of BI developers, reporting analysts, and data engineers while remaining deeply engaged in solution design, data modeling, and advanced analytics. This is a player-coach role requiring strong expertise in Snowflake, Power BI, analytics engineering, data governance, and predictive analytics., * Lead, mentor, and develop BI developers, reporting analysts, and data engineers

  • Manage staffing, workload prioritization, and enterprise reporting demand
  • Own BI delivery lifecycle including intake, data acquisition, modeling, testing, and release
  • Serve as lead architect for enterprise data warehouse and analytics platforms
  • Design, optimize, and govern Snowflake data models, including performance and cost management
  • Build and manage DBT models and automated data pipelines across multiple source systems
  • Evaluate and onboard new data sources while maintaining governance and quality standards
  • Translate business requirements into scalable datasets, KPIs, and dashboards
  • Architect and manage Power BI reports, semantic models, and analytics workspaces
  • Support predictive and prescriptive analytics use cases
  • Identify data quality issues and drive root-cause analysis and remediation
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and executive-level insights
  • Define and enforce data governance, metric definitions, and documentation standards
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline reporting and analytics workflows
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security of sensitive business data
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, HR, Operations, and IT
  • Drive BI tool adoption and provide training and enablement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience with Snowflake, Power BI, SQL, and modern BI platforms

  • 5+ years of experience with scripting and automation (Python, JavaScript, Groovy, PowerShell, APIs)

  • Experience with retail or CPG data domains (POS, inventory, merchandising, promotions, customer data)

  • Hands-on experience with Azure data and integration services (ADF, Azure SQL, Functions, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and analytics engineering best practices

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly self-directed, hands-on, and accountable

  • Experience integrating eCommerce, store operations, wholesale, supply chain, and loyalty data

  • Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics in Azure environments

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)

  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data platforms

  • Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and attention to detail
