Job description
Otis is undergoing an exciting transformation, continuing our journey of innovation and change. We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Engineering organization at the Lead Design Center (LDC) in Farmington, Connecticut. This role is pivotal to our mission, focusing on software development for elevator controls and the creation and maintenance of essential tools.
On a typical day you will:

Responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of embedded software for real-time elevator applications and interfaced embedded devices.

Operate both independently and collaboratively within a matrixed team environment, working alongside engineers across our global engineering centers.

Report to Senior Manager, Software Engineering
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field

Proficiency in C, C++, or equivalent programming languages (Python, Java)

Experience in developing software for embedded devices

Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex software issues

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of CAN and serial communications
-
Experience with state machines, hardware abstraction layers, memory management, and serial communications

Strong leadership skills with a desire to inspire and guide teams to success

Familiarity with Matlab and Simulink

Familiarity with configuration management, change management, and test management tools

Understanding of cybersecurity tools

Experience with .NET Visual Studio and C#

Familiarity with operating systems and their APIs/SDKs

The salary range for this role is $93,000 - $116,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
