Job description
We are seeking an accomplished Solutions Architect to lead the architecture and design of a next-generation supply chain technology platform. This individual will be responsible for shaping end-to-end solutions that transform how Client supports & fulfils its valued customers by leveraging its diverse network of broadlines, specialty (produce, meat, seafood), redistribution nodes and its vast network of suppliers.
This is a high-visibility leadership role that requires a mix of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong cross-functional influence. The Solutions Architect will work across multiple technology domains - including order management, purchasing, inventory, integrations, demand forecasting, finance, warehouse & transportation management and Sysco's eCommerce ecosystem - to define cohesive, scalable, and future-ready technology solutions., * Lead Solution Design: Define the target architecture for the client's next-generation supply chain technology platform, integrating Legacy systems (eg, RPG-based applications) with modern technologies (eg, cloud-native services, React.js, Node.js, Java, APIs).
- Technology Leadership: Collaborate with engineering leaders and architects across multiple technology domains to align on shared principles, patterns, and integration strategies.
- Transformation Enablement: Partner with business and product leaders to translate Sysco's strategic goals into actionable technology roadmaps and architecture blueprints.
- Integration Strategy: Design and oversee robust integration patterns across systems - ERP, inventory, finance, and eCommerce - ensuring scalability, reliability, and data consistency.
- Governance and Standards: Establish architecture governance practices, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards, performance goals, and security requirements.
- Mentorship: Guide technical teams, foster architectural thinking, and champion modern engineering practices across Sysco's technology organization.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present complex technology concepts to executive and non-technical audiences with clarity and impact.
Requirements
- Experience: 12+ years in software engineering and architecture roles, including at least 5 years leading large-scale enterprise or supply chain transformation initiatives.
- Leadership: Proven ability to influence and align multiple engineering teams around a unified technical vision.
- Communication: Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and microservices-based systems design.
- Experience with Legacy modernization (eg, RPG or Mainframe systems) and integration with cloud-native technologies.
- Proficiency with modern tech stacks - Java, Node.js, React.js, APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Knowledge of supply chain, customer order management, inventory, and fulfillment systems preferred.
