Job description
This role is located in our client office five days a week in Pittsburgh, PA. Remote work is not an option., You will collaborate with engineering, platform, SRE, and security partners to automate delivery workflows, strengthen reliability and controls, and enable teams to ship software safely and efficiently.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Design, develop, and support workflow automation solutions and job orchestration frameworks.
. Lead the migration of legacy scheduling platforms to modern, automated solutions.
. Develop and integrate APIs to support automation and orchestration.
. Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where applicable.
. Monitor, optimize, and scale workflows for performance, reliability, and resilience.
. Contribute to application design ensuring high availability and maintainability.
. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data Engineering, Product Owners) in an Agile/Scrum environment.
. Prepare technical documentation and maintain workflows in JIRA and Confluence.
. Conduct code reviews and mentoring for team members to ensure best practices.
. Deliver projects on-time, within scope, and on budget, resolving risks and dependencies proactively.
Requirements
CGI is seeking a Senior Python Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating applications and platform capabilities on Kubernetes/OpenShift. The ideal candidate is proficient in Python, experienced with CI/CD pipeline development, bitbucket, SQL., Python (advanced proficiency)
. Pandas & NumPy (data manipulation and numerical computing)
. Git (version control and collaboration)
. Agile/Scrum (delivery methodology)
. Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Concepts
Secondary Skills
. PySpark (distributed data processing)
. SQL (database querying and optimization)
. 4+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Python and automation.
. Experience with job scheduling/orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Autosys).
. Solid understanding of API development and integration.
. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.
. Exposure to front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) is a plus.
. Background in regulated industries (finance) is a bonus., * GIT

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $58,000.00 - $123,800.00.
