Job description
We are looking for some motivated, reliable, and hands-on IT Server Engineers to join our team in Ashburn, VA or Sterling, VA.
This role is responsible for providing on-site technical support for servers and related IT equipment in IDC, data center, and customer server room environments. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced field service environment and be able to perform server troubleshooting, hardware replacement, maintenance, installation, migration support, and inventory tracking.
The candidate should also be able to follow standard operating procedures, communicate effectively with customers and internal teams, and deliver timely and professional on-site support. Training on company procedures, systems, and service processes will be provided before independent assignment.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support for IDC and data center customers
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on servers, storage systems, and related IT equipment
- Diagnose hardware issues and replace defective components, including hard drives, memory modules, power supplies, fans, motherboards, and network interface cards
- Support server installation, rack and stack, decommissioning, relocation, cabling, and label verification
- Assist with server migration, hardware upgrades, system cutovers, and other implementation tasks
- Respond to on-site incidents in a timely manner and escalate issues when necessary
- Document fault details, repair actions, service results, and spare parts usage accurately
- Maintain inventory records for servers, parts, and accessories
- Follow documented procedures, safety standards, and customer site requirements
- Coordinate with customers, remote support teams, project teams, and external vendors as needed
- Complete additional duties and special projects assigned by management
- Ensure all assigned work is completed on time and with high quality
Requirements
Do you have experience in Productivity software?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * At least 1 year of experience in server maintenance, repair, migration, upgrade, or on-site data center support
- Basic to solid understanding of server hardware architecture and common server components
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and repair work
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and standard reporting/documentation tools
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work in data center or server room environments
- Flexibility to support evening, weekend, and overtime work when needed
- Strong sense of responsibility, execution, and problem-solving ability, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent hands-on experience in server operations or field service will also be considered
- Experience with break-fix support, RMA processing, or spare parts replacement
- Experience in data center operations, IDC support, or customer on-site technical service
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, maintenance workflows, and asset tracking processes
- Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred
- Mandarin speaking is a plus
