Yokogawa is seeking a Water Digital Solutions Architect to support the growth of our Water & Wastewater (W/WW) business across North America.
The role and responsibility expectations are industry-first, consultative, operationally grounded, digitally aware, and orchestration-focused. This position supports utilities and industrial water users to improve operational performance, sustainability, reliability, and workforce effectiveness through digitalization and automation solutions.
The ideal candidate combines strong W/WW industry knowledge with business development capabilities and the ability to engage customers in operational and digital transformation initiatives. This role will bring hands-on experience from the field, strong familiarity with W/WW asset management practices, and a passion for leveraging AI/ML technologies to transform asset data into actionable insights.
This is not a pure transactional sales role. The successful candidate will act as a trusted industry advisor, helping customers connect operational challenges to practical business outcomes., * Develops and promotes solution architecture to support Direct/Indirect Sales Teams in pre-sales activities.
- Provides solution design, water industry guidance, and application expertise to the Sales teams, Proposals, Marketing, as well as Systems and Product Management teams.
- Collaborate with Sales Teams to craft solutions, champion demonstrations, support benefit estimation studies, scope projects with customers, and contribute to the Proposal team for cost estimations.
- Works cross-functionally with Solution Portfolio, DX, and Systems Headquarters stakeholders to drive product plans and to communicate customer feedback for Yokogawa's W/WW business.
- Serve as key contributor in developing and promoting Yokogawa's DX solution portfolio, including predictive and reliability-centered maintenance, field asset diagnostics, and integration with enterprise systems.
- Once sold, Architect can also have the responsibility to support at the project level. Help to ensure that projects are completed in a timely, efficient, and profitable manner while maintaining customer satisfaction with scope of delivery.
- Build technical relationships with utilities, EPCs, engineering consultants, technology partners, and industrial water users.
- Identify and qualify new opportunities related to:
o Digital transformation (DX solutions)
o SCADA/DCS modernization
o Asset performance management
o Remote operations
o Energy optimization
o AI/data analytics
o Water reuse, quality, and sustainability initiatives
- Supporting teams in developing customer technical engagement and automation strategies
- Works with Proposal Manager on customer requirements; i.e., reviews RFP (Request for Proposal) and specification, coordinates with sales and marketing to determine scope of work and is responsible for scope definition, prepares and/or approves all cost estimates, develops preliminary implementation plan, may assist in the estimating, proposal, and sales process
- Analyzes and defines customer needs and requirements and provides customer consultation in the development of system specifications and solutions
- Hands on experience with maximum Yokogawa solution portfolio a plus
- Maintains high level of market awareness of competition's strategy, programs, features and policies to develop responsive programs to counter competitive assertions and promote Yokogawa solutions
- Share knowledge on Yokogawa's DX solutions through documenting and sharing with execution team so that expert's knowledge is not limited to a single person
- Provides project reasoning to customers through historical data review, process studies and Return on Investment (ROI) justification
- Develops and delivers formal and informal training on systems industry issues and applications to internal and external audiences
- Plans and coordinates presentations and demonstrations to customers, potential customers, and industry organizations and conferences
- Be aware of industry trends, regulations, funding initiatives, and competitive developments
Requirements
Do you have experience in Customer communication?, * 5+ years of experience in Water & Wastewater, industrial water, environmental services, or related industries.
- Experience in DX solutions architecture, sales support, consulting, OT, engineering, or utility engagement.
- Strong understanding of W/WW operational environments and customer challenges.
- Familiarity with automation, SCADA, instrumentation, digitalization, analytics, or operational technologies preferred.
- Existing industry relationships and participation in industry associations are considered a strong plus.
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, EPCs, or industrial end users preferred.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered., * Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

TRAVEL:
- Ability to travel approximately 30-50% for customer office/plant visits within North America.
