Job description
The Mobile Engineer operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs facility equipment and building systems across multiple locations, with a strong focus on HVAC and general facilities maintenance. This role covers preventive and corrective maintenance for approximately 20-25 sites, ensuring that mechanical, plumbing, structural, and life safety systems perform reliably and meet applicable standards. The position requires strong technical expertise in HVAC and facility systems, the ability to work independently in the field, and readiness to respond to occasional overtime needs.
Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and building systems across multiple facilities, with a primary focus on HVAC and general building maintenance.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire and life safety, and control systems to keep all systems in compliance with applicable standards.

Travel between multiple commercial locations (including banking facilities) to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs.

Carry out residential and commercial HVAC work, including maintenance, repair, and optimization of heating, air conditioning, and rooftop units, without performing boiler or appliance repair.

Perform plumbing tasks such as minor repairs, patching walls, replacing filters, and changing lights as part of general facilities maintenance.

Maintain responsibility for facility services, including preventive maintenance scheduling, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance coordination, and general maintenance activities.

Clean, inspect, calibrate, and replace parts on HVAC systems and associated equipment to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.

Record equipment readings, monitor system performance, and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Use a work order system (such as Corrigo) to receive, document, and close out maintenance and repair tasks accurately and on time.

Drive a company vehicle between sites, transporting tools, parts, and equipment safely and efficiently.

Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure proper availability, condition, and calibration of hand and power tools.

Monitor the quality, timeliness, and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors, and escalate issues as needed.

Comply with all safety procedures, including safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas.

Identify potential safety hazards, recognize dangerous conditions, and recommend or implement methods to eliminate or mitigate risks.

Use computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets, to document work, maintain records, and communicate with team members and leadership.

You will drive a company vehicle between sites and may be allowed to take the vehicle home, making daily travel more convenient. Typical working hours are around 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., aligned with standard banking hours, with some flexibility based on site needs and occasional overtime when called in for urgent issues. Work is hands-on and performed both indoors and outdoors in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and general building areas. You will regularly use hand and power tools, HVAC diagnostic equipment, and a computerized work order system such as Corrigo, as well as standard office software like Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation. The environment emphasizes safety, proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, and maintaining clean, organized work areas while performing HVAC, plumbing, and general facilities maintenance tasks
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

5-7 years of experience in maintenance and repair of commercial building systems.

Strong HVAC experience, including maintenance and repair of commercial and residential HVAC systems and rooftop units.

Experience performing facilities maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.

Ability to analyze the operation of commercial or industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, determine causes of problems or malfunctions, and take effective corrective action.

EPA 608 Type II Certification.

Universal EPA certification for handling refrigerants in a facilities and HVAC context.

Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems, compressors, and related mechanical equipment.

Hands-on experience using hand and power tools for maintenance and repair work.

Mechanical aptitude and strong diagnostic skills in mechanical and HVAC systems.

Experience with facilities maintenance tasks such as filter changes, light replacements, wall patching, and general repair.

Working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to use computerized work order systems to manage and document maintenance activities.

Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.

Ability to perform field service work independently across multiple locations.

Strong commitment to safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and hazard recognition.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

EPA 608 Universal Certification (preferred).

Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC (preferred).

Experience working as a field service technician supporting multiple commercial sites.

Experience in central utility plant operations, electrical, piping, or plumbing is beneficial.

Familiarity with Corrigo or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Experience monitoring and coordinating work performed by external contractors.

Ability to manage inventory and purchasing of maintenance materials and parts.

Strong communication skills to document work clearly and interact effectively with site contacts and team members.

Organizational skills to prioritize work across multiple facilities and manage time effectively.

Demonstrated reliability and accountability in a mobile or multi-site facilities role.
