About the Team ByteDance Networking brings together innovative ideas and technologies from network architecture, software-defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, switch software and hardware co-design, and high-speed networking, to create hyperscale data-center networking solutions that power several of the most popular apps of the world such as Douyin and TikTok which serve hundreds of millions of users around the globe. ByteDance Networking is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global, intelligent network infrastructure to meet the requirements of high availability, scalability, and high-performance. By joining this team, you will gain marketable software development and/or network operation experience in data center networking on a massive scale. Responsibilities - Drive the design, buildout and operation of ByteDance's Global BBone Network; - Design the next generation of TE based GBBone network; - Drive and manage all GBBone buildout projects; - Lead the Ops of GBBone network for high availability; - Work with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to SDN, compute, storage, database, recommendation system, and assist the team in driving the innovation and evolution of our network. - Perform network risk assessment and mitigation, and network change management. - Manage and drive strategic network vendor engagement and deliveries. - Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders from internal and cross-functional teams, to improve network and applications availability.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications - Expertise in large-scale global Backbone network design, build-out and operation. - Expert level knowledge in TE, Segment Routing, BGP, ISIS and application protocols. - 3 years of working experience and above. - Familiar and has extensive working experience with DataCenter, Ex-Network and POP Network - Cross-team collaboration experiences with multiple teams and vendors in different time zones. - Ability to carry out hands-on work and high-level, global view planning. Preferred Qualifications - Candidates are preferred who have a background in designing, constructing, and operating large-scale global backbone networks, as well as hands-on experience with Data Center, External Network, and Point of Presence (POP) network infrastructures.
Benefits & conditions
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $156000 - $387600 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
