Expert Labs Solution Architect - Power

The IBM Technology Expert Labs organization is looking for an IBM Power Solution Architect with expertise in the IBM Power hardware product line, IBM i, AIX and Licensed Program Products (LPPs).

The Solution Architect will collaborate with the client, business partner, and sellers to understand client requirements, and conduct discovery activities to define and create services solutions to address client needs. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business skills to influence clients. You are responsible for building a scope with activities and corresponding assumptions and estimating the level of effort. The Solution Architect creates the client-facing proposal content and the detailed work breakdown structure.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with multiple sellers and clients

Required technical and professional expertise

• 5+ years of experience in IBM Power hardware product line, IBM i, AIX and Licensed Program Products (LPPs):

o PowerHA

o Power server migrations and OS upgrades

o VIOS

o PowerVM

o VM Recovery Manager

o PowerVS

o PowerVC

o Security (LDAP, PowerSC, RBAC, SSO)

o Performance and capacity planning (Db2 for i, SQL, PEP 2.0)

• Very strong individual planning and project management skills

• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Self-starter, ability to learn independently

• Demonstrated communication skills in a customer facing environment at all levels of technical, management and executives

• Understand technical requirements to craft work scopes, work breakdown structures, labor estimates, and manage risk.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience working with IBM Partners, IBM Sales and Client Teams

• Bachelors Degree
