Job description
Insight Global's Aerospace Client is looking for a Sr. Systems Administrator based in Morgan Hill, CA who owns, designs, and operates critical infrastructure supporting engineering and R&D teams. This is not a helpdesk role. You will be accountable for identity, endpoint management, Microsoft 365, security controls, Linux and Windows servers, and hybrid Azure infrastructure in a production environment. This role partners closely with hardware and software engineers, acting as a trusted technical owner who understands engineering workflows and proactively improves system reliability, security, and scalability.
Requirements
- 4-5+ years of hands?on systems administration with clear ownership responsibilities
- Explicit experience owning:
- Entra ID + Conditional Access
- Microsoft Intune (compliance, configuration, Autopilot, or app deployment)
- Microsoft 365 administration (not helpdesk-only)
- Microsoft Defender security tooling
- Production Linux administration
- Windows Server and on?prem infrastructure
- Azure workloads
- Strong documentation, communication, and cross?functional collaboration skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and respond to after-hours incidents
Strongly Preferred Experience:
- Hybrid identity (Entra Connect, identity lifecycle automation)
- Infrastructure lifecycle upgrades and large?scale environments
- Networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, routing)
- CI/CD, SDLC, and engineering toolchains
- Tools such as:
- VMware, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Docker, Kubernetes
- Ansible, PRTG, SQL Server
- Engineering software licensing (FlexLM) and R&D environments
