Sr Systems Administrator

Insight Global's Aerospace Client is looking for a Sr. Systems Administrator based in Morgan Hill, CA who owns, designs, and operates critical infrastructure supporting engineering and R&D teams. This is not a helpdesk role. You will be accountable for identity, endpoint management, Microsoft 365, security controls, Linux and Windows servers, and hybrid Azure infrastructure in a production environment. This role partners closely with hardware and software engineers, acting as a trusted technical owner who understands engineering workflows and proactively improves system reliability, security, and scalability.

• 4-5+ years of hands?on systems administration with clear ownership responsibilities
• Explicit experience owning:
• Entra ID + Conditional Access
• Microsoft Intune (compliance, configuration, Autopilot, or app deployment)
• Microsoft 365 administration (not helpdesk-only)
• Microsoft Defender security tooling
• Production Linux administration
• Windows Server and on?prem infrastructure
• Azure workloads
• Strong documentation, communication, and cross?functional collaboration skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and respond to after-hours incidents

Strongly Preferred Experience:

• Hybrid identity (Entra Connect, identity lifecycle automation)
• Infrastructure lifecycle upgrades and large?scale environments
• Networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, routing)
• CI/CD, SDLC, and engineering toolchains
• Tools such as:
• VMware, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Docker, Kubernetes
• Ansible, PRTG, SQL Server
• Engineering software licensing (FlexLM) and R&D environments
