Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer / Cloud Data Architect to support a major enterprise data modernization initiative. This role will focus on architecting, building, and optimizing a modern cloud-native Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in enterprise data engineering, advanced SQL development, cloud-native architectures, ETL/ELT frameworks, API integrations, and large-scale enterprise data transformations.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role supporting complex enterprise analytics, ingestion, and cloud data platform initiatives.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.

7+ years of Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Analytics experience.

Extensive experience building Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) from the ground up.

Strong experience working within cloud-native enterprise environments.

Experience supporting enterprise modernization and cloud migration initiatives preferred.

Industry experience within healthcare, financial services, or insurance environments preferred.
Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:

Expert-level SQL development, including complex queries, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and query optimization.

Strong hands-on experience with Google Big Query, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.

Experience with API integrations and enterprise data ingestion frameworks.

Experience with enterprise ETL/ELT tools and cloud data pipelines.

Knowledge of cloud-native data platforms and EDW architecture.

Experience with data lakes, Lakehouse concepts, and enterprise data modeling.

Familiarity with Star and Snowflake schema design.

Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Power BI, Tableau, or Looker preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

Strong documentation and organizational skills.
Travel Requirements: No travel will be required, unless at the client's discretion.
Benefits & conditions
Salary Range: SolomonEdwards values your unique and individual experience and background. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training. A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $95 - 110.
