Job description

Allied Resources Technical Consultants is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer to support enterprise-wide data, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with deep expertise in Microsoft data platforms, ETL development, and modern data warehousing solutions.

The ideal candidate will be organized, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects while helping drive strategic data infrastructure and analytics initiatives across the organization.

Key Highlights:

  • Lead development and optimization of enterprise data pipelines, warehousing solutions, and analytical platforms.
  • Design, implement, and maintain ETL processes utilizing Microsoft technologies including SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Develop and enhance scalable data models, semantic models, and reporting structures to support business intelligence initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and specifications.
  • Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data integration and reporting processes.
  • Support reporting, visualization, and self-service analytics initiatives using Power BI and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Implement data quality, validation, governance, and security best practices across enterprise data platforms.
  • Design and maintain robust data architectures that support scalable and maintainable data ecosystems.
  • Research and implement modern technologies and methodologies to improve data infrastructure efficiency and performance.
  • Integrate data from multiple disparate systems into cohesive enterprise solutions.
  • Automate data processes and workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Ensure compliance with data security standards and protection regulations for sensitive enterprise information.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
  • Mentor junior team members and support ongoing technical growth within the organization.
  • Collaborate effectively within a fully remote team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL databases and enterprise data warehousing technologies including SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Synapse SQL.
  • 2+ years of recent experience working with Microsoft Fabric.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience developing ETL solutions using Microsoft technologies such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • 7+ years of experience developing semantic data models using Microsoft Analysis Services Tabular, Power BI, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong experience with medallion architecture design patterns and modern data engineering practices.
  • Proficiency with Azure Gen2 Storage, Synapse, Fabric, Spark Notebooks, REST APIs, Databricks, and related cloud technologies.
  • Expert-level understanding of data warehousing methodologies and dimensional modeling concepts (Kimball methodology).
  • Advanced SQL development skills including queries, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar software development lifecycle management tools.
  • Strong scripting and automation experience with Python and PowerShell.
  • Experience provisioning and managing Azure-based data resources preferred.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Redgate Monitoring or Azure Log Analytics is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP modules and related data structures preferred.
  • Experience with R programming language is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Microsoft DP-700 Certification preferred.
