You'll serve as a technical authority for server administration, automation, security, and troubleshooting, and act as a mentor and escalation point for junior staff. This position is located in our Lafayette, Louisiana office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Due to the nature of government contracts, US citizenship is required.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows server environments and related infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance1
. Lead advanced system configuration, patching, upgrades, and compliance activities
. Oversee system health, performance, and availability using enterprise tools (e.g., SolarWinds, AppDynamics, ThousandEye)
. Serve as an escalation point for complex incidents, performing root cause analysis and mentoring junior staff on troubleshooting and best practices
. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls (Active Directory, IAM), and support privileged access management
. Design, implement, and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
. Automate system administration and operational tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
. Document system architectures, configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures
. Collaborate with IT, security, and development teams to support deployments, resolve issues, and ensure secure operations
. Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to process improvement, and share knowledge across the team
. Stay current with emerging technologies, security standards, and best practices
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
. 5+ years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, or related roles in enterprise environments
. Advanced proficiency with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and networking concepts
. Experience with system monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, AppDynamics)
. Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash)
. Demonstrated experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
. Experience mentoring or guiding junior administrators or IT staff
. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
. Eligibility for federal background investigation and compliance with security requirements
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
Experience supporting enterprise-scale or federal IT environments
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid infrastructure
Exposure to DevSecOps, CI/CD, or Agile environments
Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, Azure Administrator)

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $71,700.00 - $176,300.00.
