Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Engineer - AWS for a Direct Hire position with a client located in Winston Salem NC (3 days per week), We are seeking a skilled RHEL Engineer with strong AWS experience to support, maintain, and enhance our enterprise Linux infrastructure. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems both on premises and within AWS cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Linux system administration, including performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience with patch management and security compliance frameworks
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancing)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat certification (RHCSA, RHCE)
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or DevOps Engineer)
  • Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Splunk)

Benefits & conditions

Salary range: $140-150K/Annum + Benefits; Pay rates may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
