Job description
Our client is a rapidly growing healthcare technology company using advanced software and data platforms to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes in cardiovascular care., They are hiring a Principal-level Platform Engineer to join a small, highly impactful infrastructure team responsible for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, developer tooling, and platform reliability across a regulated engineering environment.
This is a hands-on role with significant ownership and influence over platform direction, architecture, and engineering standards. What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and internal developer platforms
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, observability, and automation workflows
- Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and modern cloud-native tooling
- Support containerized workloads across ECS/Fargate and Kubernetes-based environments
- Partner closely with software engineering teams to improve developer experience and delivery velocity
- Help shape platform architecture, operational standards, and reliability practices across the organization
- Contribute to cloud security, compliance, and infrastructure best practices within a regulated SDLC
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure roles
- Strong AWS experience across infrastructure, networking, and cloud-native services
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Experience with containers and orchestration technologies (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Strong CI/CD experience with modern build and deployment tooling
- Background in software engineering or development prior to moving into infrastructure/platform work is highly preferred
- Experience building internal tooling or improving developer platforms/workflows
- Strong Scripting or programming ability in Python, Go, Rust, Ruby, or similar
- Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare, fintech, medical devices, SOC2, HIPAA, etc.) is a plus
This is a hybrid position based in the Boston area, with two core in-office collaboration days per week and the remaining days remote.
