Job description

The main mission is to ensure the smooth operation, scalability, and security of the European Parliament's web environments and platforms.

This includes:

  • Set up, configure, and maintain web environments by identifying system requirements
  • Manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes
  • Orchestrate systems in cloud-based infrastructures like Amazon (AWS) and Azure
  • Secure web systems by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation
  • Establish and test disaster recovery policies and procedures, complete backups, and maintain technical documentation
  • Apply centrally defined policies and liaise with DevSecOps and cloud teams via ServiceNow workflows
  • Set up and maintain software deployment lifecycles, and schedule deployment processes with external DevOps teams
  • Execute and support critical platform upgrades and migrations driven by central IT teams (e.g., data centre, GitLab, Tomcat, Oracle, and JDK upgrades)

Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of proven professional experience in IT systems infrastructure and web administration.
  • Solid experience with the administration of web servers such as Tomcat, Apache, and NGINX
  • Solid experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services, with a strong focus on AWS
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems ( UNIX/Linux ) and networking ( TCP/IP )
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., TeamCity)
  • Experience with programming automation using Ansible
  • Strong problem-solving and incident management skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders (DevOps, DevSecOps, and central IT teams)
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven mindset capable of working in a high-standard institutional environment.
