Job description
National Highways have a great opportunity for a Spatial Data Manager within the GIS and Registration Team. Your role will be to manage the production of spatial data for the digital highway boundary project (RedLine) and cadastral data for our 'accelerated registration' project with HM Land Registry. RedLine is published internally and externally to support various uses including maintenance contracts, road network boundary discussions and land valuations.
This role will be based from our Manchester office.
- Provide leadership to the RedLine team; developing skills, coaching and fostering a culture that aligns to our values
- Take ownership of the RedLine project by delivering on monthly key performance indicators, mitigating risks to the project, working with the assurance team on data quality and ensuring the future health of the product
- Engage with the team's customers and stakeholders to ensure we produce targeted, high-quality GIS and cadastral products for their use
Requirements
- Degree in Geographical Information Systems or related subject, or extensive experience in the field
- Proven experience in managing people and leading a team to successfully deliver in a project environment; setting goals, reviewing performance and developing team members
- Excellent skills with a mix of GIS applications, for example ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS and FME
- Proven experience of providing geospatial data, analysis and cartographic services and specialist advice
- Evidence of managing stakeholder relationships, engaging internal and external customers and working with other colleagues to support the delivery of projects
