Job description
We're looking for a Rust Lead Senior Developer to become the technical owner of our Proxy service. You'll join a seven-person engineering team, refine a high-throughput codebase, and lay the groundwork for features that power tens of millions of proxy requests per day. If you thrive on autonomy, love clean architecture, and want a chance to grow into a team-lead role, this seat is for you.
We're not looking to micromanage you. We expect you to take full ownership of our Rust codebase (50,000 lines) and ensure it remains future-proof. If this sounds like you, we're excited to get in touch.
Requirements
- Lead development with Rust, Tokio (the codebase is 100% Async), Hyper, RabbitMQ, Redis, Prometheus, and MongoDB
- 5+ years of professional Rust experience with Mastery of Tokio Async framework
- Challenges involving millions of requests/events per hour
- Solid comprehension of TCP, UDP and multiplexers
- Strong knowledge of protocol design, including Protobuf, Bincode, and raw
- Strong performance-tuning skills-profiling, memory optimization, low-latency design
- Solid security mindset
- Capable of designing highly concurrent softwares with High Availability.
- Implement bullet-proof security (Anti-DDoS system, TLS, cryptography, etc.) and enforce best practices
- Conduct thorough code reviews
Preferred
- 5+ years of professional Rust experience with Mastery of Tokio Async framework
- Hands-on expertise with RabbitMQ (routing, retries, dead-lettering) and async patterns
- Knowledge of SOCKS5 & PROXY protocols would be a big plus
- Working knowledge of MongoDB is preferred
- Comfortable owning projects end-to-end: scoping, delivery, monitoring, iteration
- Help shape engineering culture and, as we scale, play a key role in hiring & leading Rust talents
- Mentor mid-/junior devs
- Ability to overlap with Asia-Europe time zones and communicate clearly in English
