Job description

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will define and drive the technical direction for modern, cloud-native applications across web and mobile platforms, with deep expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks. Operating as a senior individual contributor and technical leader, you will partner closely with product, architecture, and engineering leadership to make pragmatic, high-impact design decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability.

You will remain hands-on with critical-path systems while mentoring senior and other engineers, translating prototypes into scalable, production-grade platforms. You will establish clear expectations for reliability, security, performance, and operability, ensuring strong engineering fundamentals - such as testing, observability, and CI/CD - are embedded from day one. Through technical leadership, collaboration, and example, you will elevate engineering quality, accelerate delivery, and foster a culture of craftsmanship, learning, and continuous improvement.

Expectations for the Role

  • Set and drive the technical vision across cloud platforms and front-end web applications, aligning architecture, standards, and execution
  • Architect greenfield initiatives from the ground up, defining frontend architecture, API integration patterns, and cross-team engineering standards
  • Serve as a senior technical authority for high-impact, cross-team initiatives, guiding architecture, design decisions, and engineering best practices
  • Design and evolve proprietary frameworks and developer tooling (CLIs, build systems, scaffolding tools) that accelerate delivery across engineering teams
  • Lead solutions from prototype to production, ensuring performance, security, reliability, scalability, and operational readiness
  • Deploy full-stack observability strategies using OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and centralized monitoring across distributed services
  • Design CI/CD workflows and release strategies using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and containerized deployment pipelines
  • Define and influence platform, framework, and tooling direction in partnership with engineering leadership, product teams, and the open-source community
  • Design and integrate generative AI solutions, including LLM-powered workflows, AI-driven prototyping, and intelligent automation
  • Mentor senior engineers and foster cross-functional collaboration while staying current with emerging technologies and driving innovation
  • Drive adoption of new platforms and frameworks through technical presentations, documentation, and developer community engagement

Requirements

Do you have experience in Web applications?, 8+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on Agile delivery of enterprise-scale, distributed systems

8+ years developing user-facing applications using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript across high-traffic web platforms

8+ years of experience architecting frontend frameworks, micro-frontend (MFE) patterns, and developer tooling at enterprise scale

3+ years designing and building solutions in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or equivalent), including containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes

3+ years applying best practices for security, availability, resiliency, scalability, and performance in production systems

Experience designing or integrating AI and generative AI solutions, including LangGraph workflows, LLM APIs, and intelligent automation

Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence engineering direction without relying on formal authority

  • Deep experience with CI/CD pipeline design, build system architecture, and migration strategies across enterprise toolchains
  • Hands-on experience with full-stack observability: OpenTelemetry instrumentation, Grafana dashboards, and cross-service monitoring, * Experience in the health, wellness, or pharmacy domain
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems, including backend migrations (e.g., Flask to FastAPI) and frontend framework evolution
  • Full-stack development experience spanning React, Node.js, Python (FastAPI/Django), relational and NoSQL databases, and cloud services
  • Experience building browser developer tools or extensions
  • Contributions to open-source projects, published technical content, or community presentations
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to align stakeholders and drive outcomes across organizational boundaries, Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or similar
