Job description
We are the Identity Solutions Services Platform Engineering team responsible for building the capabilities required to package our customer-facing api products. We are looking for Senior Software Engineer who can contribute to team in developing REST api.
Role & Responsibilities: Work as part of a development Scrum team in an Agile environment that is geographically diverse Responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software backend (REST API) solutions Define requirements for new applications and customization adhering to Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices Develop, customize, and test applications to integrate to Mastercard's specifications, All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:
- Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices;
- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;
- Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and
- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines.
Requirements
Advanced Java development skills Advanced skills and knowledge of Java 17+, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate Practical knowledge of LLMs for code generation, refactoring, and review Experience using AI-assisted tools to design and evolve software features Familiarity with MCP servers enabling context-aware code Experience in building Restful services and clients using Spring framework Experience working with Junit/Mockito/Spring Test Experience with JBehave / Cucumber BDD testing/ Spock Self-motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks with minimal direction Experience mentoring providing technical support to junior team members Ability to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problems Basic security knowledge (TLS, Encryption, hashing, JWT) Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure or AWS or PCF
The ideal candidate may also possess some of these secondary skills: Experience with NoSQL databases Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle Experience with File Transfer Service (FTP/SFTP) #AI3

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges O'Fallon, Missouri: $115,000 - $184,000 USD
