Job description

Are you ready to be part of a team that's shaping the future of technology for North Dakota citizens? North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) is hiring a Tier II Network Analyst to join our Technology division. The Tier II Network Analyst provides technical support for the STAGEnet infrastructure, focusing on network operations and security compliance. This position has a rotating on call component and includes occasional work outside of normal business hours.

What You'll Do as a Tier II Network Analyst:

  • Resolve network incidents and customer requests via ServiceNow.
  • Ensure DHCP functionality and administer MAC, IP addressing, and DNS.
  • Configure and implement approved firewall rule sets under guidance.
  • Proactively monitor the network to identify and resolve issues, including VPN problems and site outages.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration problems within the network infrastructure.
  • Follow organizational security policies and support compliance efforts.
  • Review network configurations for potential risks and escalate findings.

The individual must be organized, detail-oriented, enjoy working with others in a highly collaborative environment, understand the importance of proper follow-through, have strong verbal communication skills, embody an unrelenting customer focus, understand quality assurance, and must stay abreast of current trends and changes in areas of technical expertise.

Candidates for this position can live anywhere in North Dakota or a border community (Moorhead, MN, East Grand Forks, MN, etc). If selected candidate lives within a 50 miles radius of NDIT offices in Bismarck or Fargo, North Dakota they will work on site one day a week. Otherwise, this position will work remotely full time.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Network infrastructure management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Systems or related field, and at least one (1) year of experience in planning, designing, installing, testing, and supporting large, complex network infrastructures across multiple locations.

Additional work experience can be substituted for the education component on a year for year basis.
