Job description
Our client is going to be looking to add a contractor to perform IT support with their team at their Kentwood location. They are looking for someone that is comfortable and experienced providing hands on IT support for Tier 1 & some Tier 2 issues in support of their office and manufacturing environment. They have roughly 120 employees out of this location that includes office workers as well as manufacturing employees and plant floor devices. They are big on quality fixes over quantity fixes so they are seeking someone with a good troubleshooting background , enjoys seeing tickets thru to completion, and documenting any pertinent information during the process., * Serving as first POC for It support inquiries - including desktop, laptop, mobile devices, peripherals, and basic networking issues
- Ticket ownership - utilizing their Service Desk Plus system to create, prioritize, and document requests thru the tool.
- PC Life Cycle Support - image/provision devices, deploy and troubleshoot applications, configure peripherals, and end life cycle things like decommissioning and coordinating with vendors for warranty repairs
- New employee onboarding/offboarding for accounts and hardware
- Basic IAM tasks - creating/modifying accounts in AD and Entra, d-list distributions, and group changes
- Support for M365 tools like Outlook, Teams, OneDrive/Sharepoint basics
- Strong partnership with manufacturing users and the escalation points of any plant related software
- Escalation management - recognizing when an issue exceeds scope of Tier 1 and providing detailed notes to escalation points
- Knowledge base and documentation of articles
- Asset tracking/inventory management - assist as needed and make sure policies are adhered to with new/decommissioned devices
- Help out with special projects (Refresh, small roll outs, etc.)
Requirements
- Strong troubleshooting skills including basic network concepts like IP/DNS/DHCP/Wi-Fi fundamentals
- Experience using a ticketing system before and understanding basics
- Microsoft suite experience including Windows 10/11, M365 services support, and remote support tools too.
- Great customer service skills and desire to learn new tools and processes, * Experience with Entra ID troubleshooting and support
- End point management experience thru Intune
- Any network troubleshooting related to switch ports, VLAN concepts, cabling, or printer networking/mapping
- Experience supporting VOIP or Teams calling services
- Any experience with multi-functional printers like Zebra, Ricoh, etc.
- Certifications specifically around A+, Network+ and ITIL Foundations

This is a Contract position based out of Kentwood, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
