Job description
The mission of the Data Architect is to design and drive a scalable, analytics-oriented data architecture that supports business decision-making, EHL's digital strategy, and long-term ambitions. Acts as a key interface between business, data, and technology, ensuring strong data modeling and decision-ready data across domains. The role focuses on enabling trusted analytics and improving data usability while reinforcing EHL's premium, human-centric positioning through technology. Operating as a hybrid architect-builder, the Data Architect delivers concrete improvements across data and integration landscapes within a short timeframe. This includes hands-on structuring of core data domains and close collaboration with Cloud, AI, and Solutions Architects, ensuring AI and analytics are built on solid, business-aligned data foundations.
What will you do?
- Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture, with a strong focus on conceptual, logical, and analytical data models aligned with key business domains.
- Design and enable trusted analytics by building robust models, semantic layers, and shared KPIs to support BI, reporting, and self-service usage.
- Establish scalable data and integration architectures (APIs, event-driven, iPaaS) to ensure reliable, timely, and traceable data flows across systems.
- Develop a modern, analytics-first data platform (lakehouse) and implement a lightweight reference layer (MDM) to improve data consistency and business alignment.
- Contribute hands-on to priority data initiatives while advising stakeholders, defining governance standards, and enhancing data quality, ownership, and literacy across the organization.
Requirements
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or advanced training is a plus, with relevant certifications being an asset.
- You bring 8 to 12 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, data modeling, analytics engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- You have proven experience structuring complex data domains in collaboration with business stakeholders and enabling enterprise-wide analytics.
- You have hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines and delivering analytical data products.
- You are experienced in bridging operational systems and analytical platforms, ideally within complex or multi-domain environments (higher education is a plus).
- You have strong expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, analytical, dimensional) and solid experience with analytics architectures (BI, semantic layers, metrics).
- You are proficient in data integration and architecture patterns (APIs, event-driven, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, iPaaS) and understand master data, data quality, metadata, and lineage concepts.
- You have experience with modern data platforms (e.g., lakehouse, cloud data services) and a working knowledge of AI data requirements grounded in strong analytics foundations.
- You understand data security, privacy, and regulatory constraints.
- You are fluent in English (C1) and French (C1).
