Job description
The University of Alcalá is seeking a young researcher to join the NetIS research group under the Programme for Young Researchers of the Community of Madrid within the ESF+ STEP Programme 2026. The position focuses on advanced digital technologies, connectivity and cybersecurity in the context of post-quantum computing. The selected candidate will collaborate in ongoing research projects related to the securitization of IoT architectures through post-quantum cryptography schemes and advanced cybersecurity solutions.
The project contributes to the development of strategic and emerging digital technologies in Europe, supporting secure migration and deployment of future systems in the quantum computing era. Research activities include the implementation of secure IoT architectures, development of self-configurable security profiles, optimization of energy-efficient security schemes and support for innovative cybersecurity solutions with significant economic and technological potential.
Requirements
The position is offered under a full-time temporary contract (37.5 hours/week) for a duration of 1 year, from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027, with a gross monthly salary of €1,988.01. Applicants must be under 30 years old, registered as unemployed job seekers in Spain at the beginning of the contract and hold a Bachelor's degree in Telematics Engineering or related fields. Additional merits related to cybersecurity, IoT, networking or post-quantum cryptography will be positively valued. The selection process will be based on a blind CV evaluation, academic background and adequacy to the research programme.
