Job description

Sparks Group has partnered with a large government contractor to find a Category Manager. As the Category Manager you will be responsible for managing the IT hardware and software categories to develop and execute enterprise-wide category strategies (end user computing, infrastructure hardware, enterprise software, SaaS, cloud-adjacent licensing, maintenance, support, and related IT services). The ideal candidate has 6 years of category management experience to include working in the IT software and hardware space, is a strategic, analytical and creative thinker who can work in a fast-paced changing environment.   • Establish and manage high-value partnerships with OEMs and channel partners, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market intelligence.
  • Negotiate and maintain FAR-compliant enterprise agreements that maximize value and streamline procurement across the business.
  • Communicate sourcing strategies to key stakeholders and provide training on utilizing enterprise agreements and preferred partner networks.
  • Monitor supplier KPIs-including savings, reliability, and compliance-while refining strategies to adapt to market shifts and technology lifecycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred though additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management to include managing IT hardware and software categories
  • Experience developing category strategies, sourcing plans, savings pipelines, supplier segmentation models and executive-level business cases.
  • Experience in MS Office, data analytical tools and procurement software (Ivalua is preferred).
