Job description

  • Perform:
  • Requirements analysis, definition, decomposition, and management
  • Functional and performance analysis
  • System architecture and design activities
  • Trade studies and technical evaluations
  • Systems integration, verification, and validation
  • Interface definition and ICD development
  • Develop system requirements and allocate functionality to lower-level subsystems and components
  • Conduct technical planning, cost analysis, risk analysis, supportability, and effectiveness assessments
  • Design and evaluate systems, networks, and information systems to ensure compliance with government security requirements
  • Support system accreditation, certification, and security testing activities
  • Develop and maintain system security documentation for new and existing systems
  • Participate in modeling and simulation activities
  • Research and evaluate:
  • Vendor products
  • COTS technologies
  • GFE/CFE components
  • Specifications and technical manuals
  • Support technical engineering deliverables throughout the full system development lifecycle
  • Define hardware/software compatibility requirements, technical platforms, interfaces, and operational parameters
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses and integration challenges
  • Coordinate external interfaces and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Support Agile program execution using lightweight requirements decomposition approaches to reduce unnecessary
  • requirements complexity
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers as needed
  • Interface regularly with customers, engineering leadership, and cross-functional project teams
  • Support limited travel requirements

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
  • 8+ years of related systems engineering experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required at time of hire
  • Experience with:
  • Systems engineering lifecycle processes
  • Requirements decomposition and management
  • Systems integration and verification/validation
  • Multi-level security (MLS) and cross-domain environments
  • Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Hardware/software integration
  • Ground systems, modem systems, or antenna systems
  • Experience supporting Agile engineering programs preferred
  • Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and lead technical efforts
