Job description

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure at scale. You'll be a hands-on technical leader-owning infrastructure-as-code, modernizing our platform services, guiding best practices, and partnering with security, networking, and application teams to deliver resilient, observable, and well-governed cloud environments.

  • EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities:

Design & Build: Architect and implement scalable cloud infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, identity, secrets, container platforms, serverless) using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform/CloudFormation).

  • Platform Operations: Own day-to-day reliability and performance of core platform services (e.g., Kubernetes/AKS/EKS/GKE, API gateways, service mesh, artifacts, registries) including patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Automation & CI/CD: Create reusable modules, pipelines, and tooling (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins) to enable self-service provisioning and safe, repeatable deployments.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement guardrails, IAM least privilege, key management, and workload hardening in partnership with Security.
  • Observability & SRE: Establish logging, metrics, tracing (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana).
  • Networking: Design resilient network topologies (VPC/VNet peering, PrivateLink/Private Endpoints, routing, DNS, WAF, CDN) and troubleshoot connectivity/perf issues.
  • Mentorship & Standards: Coach engineers, perform design reviews, and document patterns, runbooks, and reference architectures.
  • On-Call: Participate in a reasonable, rotating on-call schedule for critical platform services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience engineering and operating production cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Strong IaC expertise (Terraform preferred) and modern Git-based workflows (branches, PRs, code reviews).
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking (CIDR, routing, NAT, DNS, load balancing, TLS).
  • Practical security know-how: IAM, KMS/secrets, image signing, vulnerability scanning, policy/guardrails.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automating platform operations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, incident management, and cross-team communication skills.

Preferred/Bonus

  • Deep experience with Azure services (e.g., ARM/Bicep, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, AKS, ACR, Application Gateway, Private Endpoints).
  • Service Mesh/Zero Trust (Istio, Linkerd, mTLS), API gateways, and event-driven architectures.
  • Database platform knowledge (managed SQL/NoSQL), data protection, and backup/restore strategies.
  • Compliance familiarity (SOC 2, PCI, ISO 27001) and evidence-based controls.
  • FinOps tools and practices (budgets, tagging strategy, cost reporting).
  • Experience leading migrations or large platform modernization efforts.

Education

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Power Skills:

  • Action Oriented
  • Collaborates Effectively
  • Communicates Effectively
  • Drives Results
  • Situational Adaptability
