- Observability & SRE: Establish logging, metrics, tracing (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Grafana).
- Networking: Design resilient network topologies (VPC/VNet peering, PrivateLink/Private Endpoints, routing, DNS, WAF, CDN) and troubleshoot connectivity/perf issues.
- Mentorship & Standards: Coach engineers, perform design reviews, and document patterns, runbooks, and reference architectures.
- On-Call: Participate in a reasonable, rotating on-call schedule for critical platform services.

- Service Mesh/Zero Trust (Istio, Linkerd, mTLS), API gateways, and event-driven architectures.
- Database platform knowledge (managed SQL/NoSQL), data protection, and backup/restore strategies.
- Compliance familiarity (SOC 2, PCI, ISO 27001) and evidence-based controls.
