Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to lead and manage manufacturing test programs for complex PCB assemblies and high-density electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in system-level testing, RF measurements, signal integrity, failure analysis, and manufacturing test operations. This role requires ownership of end-to-end test execution, troubleshooting, quality enforcement, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and contract manufacturers (CMs). Candidates should be comfortable working hands-on with hardware, fixtures, automated test systems, and manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities Test Program Ownership

  • Own and manage the end-to-end manufacturing test program for complex PCB assemblies and system-level products.

  • Serve as the single point of accountability ("Captain") for:

  • Test execution

  • Stability

  • Yield performance

  • Test readiness

  • Support manufacturing ramp activities and ongoing production test optimization.

  • Ensure test coverage, repeatability, and production reliability.

Hardware Testing & Validation

  • Perform testing on:

  • Complex PCB assemblies

  • High-density boards

  • System-level hardware platforms

  • Analyze electrical and digital circuit behavior during manufacturing and validation testing.

  • Perform RF measurements and evaluate signal integrity characteristics.

Test Systems & Automation

  • Work hands-on with:

  • Manufacturing test fixtures

  • Automated test setups

  • Production test stations

  • Analyze logs and debug scripts written in:

  • Python

  • Similar scripting languages

  • Support automation improvements and test infrastructure enhancements.

Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis

  • Perform initial troubleshooting and basic failure analysis (FA) for manufacturing test failures.

  • Analyze test logs and output data to identify root causes of:

  • Electrical failures

  • RF issues

  • Functional failures

  • Differentiate between:

  • Product issues

  • Fixture problems

  • Software/test script failures

  • Manufacturing process issues

  • Escalate critical issues with supporting analysis and data.

Quality Control & Test Policy Enforcement

  • Enforce manufacturing test policies, release criteria, and compliance standards.

  • Monitor and analyze key manufacturing metrics including:

  • Yield

  • Retest rates

  • Failure trends

  • Drive deep-dive investigations for abnormal trends or yield degradation.

  • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Apple engineering teams on:

  • Test expectations

  • Failure analysis

  • Corrective actions

  • Production readiness

  • Interface with contract manufacturers (CMs) responsible for operating manufacturing tests.

  • Coordinate with:

  • Hardware Engineering

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • Quality Teams

  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and release processes.
