Job description
Miller Electric is seeking a Team Lead for Fabrication Support (Paint) to join the Components Division team. The successful candidate will support manufacturing operations while ensuring product quality and efficiency. This fast-paced, quality-focused role includes responsibilities such as loading/unloading parts from the paint line, hanging hooks, PEM nut/weld nut installation, manual material movement, running gear, and other support tasks throughout the shift. We are looking for an individual who will demonstrate a safety-first mentality, regularly practice effective communication within a team environment, and have an interest in moving towards a Fabricator role. Individuals interested in advancing to a Fabricator role may have the opportunity to participate in the Internal Fabrication Training Program

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coach and develop work teams for superior safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost saving focuses

Ability to lead safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost saving initiatives through employee involvement ITW toolbox principles.

Work closely with operations leaders to maintain and improve the manufacturing/assembly environment in order to respond to changing customer needs and demands through facilitating area layouts, executing action plans, and selecting equipment to improve manufacturing processes.

Build co-worker relationships through daily, open, and direct communication while encouraging creativity and innovation.

Demonstrate and encourage effective communication to personnel at all levels within the organization.

Build key relationships with employees and leadership team.

Participate and lead committees/teams.

Resolve problems causing production shutdown, substandard production, and or low efficiencies whenever they occur.

Assist in production scheduling, coordinating manpower

Will need to rotate between primary job duties and other duties as needed

Other duties as assigned

Individual may have to stand for up to 12 hours and lift to 50 lbs. repeatedly.

The applicant must be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with minimal training.

Applicant must have a proven track record of customer service skills.
Requirements

Great communications skills

Basic computer skills are required (Email, Microsoft Word/Excel, Internet)

Must be willing to cross-train.

Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours a day and lift to 50 lbs.

Work overtime when it is required.

Ability to read blueprints to ensure product is assembled and packaged to print.

Skilled at performance management; providing formal and informal feedback to employees.
