The Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) Analytics team delivers strategic analytics, customer and banker communication insights, and management reporting to product, sales, and frontline risk teams. The team plays a critical role in enhancing payment risk controls and ensuring regulatory compliance across wire transfer operations. About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative professional to support wire payments risk analytics and control reporting. In this role, you will partner with risk teams, product owners, and technology stakeholders to analyze transaction data, strengthen controls, and deliver insights that drive risk mitigation and operational excellence.
You will work on complex, large-scale data challenges, requiring critical thinking, deep data analysis, and the ability to synthesize insights across multiple systems and stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Develop deep expertise in wire payments data, initiation channels, and financial crimes regulations
- Perform complex data analysis comparing wire messages with instructions from initiation channels
- Design, build, and maintain reporting solutions for risk, control, and audit teams
- Partner with Frontline Risk and GPL Analytics teams to identify, analyze, and resolve control gaps
- Serve as a liaison between analytics, risk, and platform/application teams
- Lead discussions with product SMEs and business stakeholders to drive issue resolution
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to strategic initiatives involving large-scale data management and analytics
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of experience in business analytics, payments risk, or related fields
- 4+ years of experience writing advanced SQL (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Hive)
- Experience working with complex data formats (XML, delimited, fixed-width files)
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets and solve complex problems with attention to detail
- Experience building data pipelines, transformations, and reporting solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in payments, treasury services, or wholesale banking environments
- Familiarity with Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) products and services
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional discussions and influence outcomes
- Experience managing multiple complex projects in fast-paced environments
- Strong organizational and change management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Curiosity and ability to quickly learn new business concepts and processes
