Job description
You will be affiliated with the Center for Teaching and Research in Computer Science and Systems (CERIS) at IMT Mines Alès and work closely with the "Digital" teaching department and the 2IA (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence) specialization department at IMT Mines Alès.
The MACMIA project: Massification of Artificial Intelligence Skills and Professions focuses on Artificial Intelligence; it aims to co-develop, with academic partners and industry stakeholders, a range of training programs for technicians, dual-skilled engineers and managers, and researchers. It includes an AI engine for recommending personalized training pathways.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Analyzing needs in collaboration with faculty members and partners of the MACMIA project;
- Developing and operating the computing platform;
- Deploying and providing support for new and existing equipment in collaboration with CERIS research engineers, in accordance with the needs of CERIS's research and the MACMIA project's experiments;
- Evaluating and monitoring technological trends regarding equipment advancements and developments in the field of AI to make recommendations on equipment procurement in accordance with public procurement regulations;
- Working as part of a team by participating in various meetings and monitoring committees with research staff and MACMIA project partners.

Education Level Master Degree or equivalent, * System skills: Linux administration (Ubuntu); management of the CUDA environment, NVIDIA drivers, and GPU optimization; Jupyter Notebook; Bash; Docker, Kubernetes; virtualization; user support.
- Development skills: Python and libraries related to AI and data processing; knowledge of scientific computing using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and possibly MATLAB and R.
- Agile development methods and scientific project management; integration into existing architecture.
- User & service management: management of user access and permissions; monitoring of resource usage; technical support for faculty, researchers, and students; implementation of best practices for resource usage.
- Infrastructure and access security: system backup and monitoring; awareness of GDPR issues and data sovereignty; management of data flows and storage.
Minimum required education and/or experience:
- Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent

Eligibility criteria
The position offered by IMT Mines Alès is a 30-month fixed-term, full-time contract under public law, governed by the management framework of the Institut Mines-Télécom, job code R, Research & Development Engineer, Category II.
Indicative salary range (excluding variable annual bonus): €34,000 - €46,000 gross annual salary depending on profile and experience (reduced payroll costs in the public sector). Selection process
