Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join a high-profile enterprise programme based in Leeds. The ideal candidate will have strong AWS infrastructure and platform engineering experience, with deep hands-on expertise in CloudFormation, CI/CD automation, and troubleshooting complex cloud-native environments.

Mandatory Requirement:

• Active SC Clearance is required

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable AWS platform solutions
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation scripting, troubleshooting, debugging, and infrastructure automation
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and automation tooling
• Work closely with development, infrastructure, and product teams to support platform delivery and operational excellence
• Manage and optimise AWS cloud resources and containerised environments
• Support deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support activities
• Document platform processes, standards, and infrastructure procedures
• Contribute engineering insights to architecture and platform improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10-15 years of Platform/DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering experience
• Strong AWS cloud experience including EC2, API Gateway, NLB, ASG, and related services
• Excellent hands-on experience with CloudFormation (mandatory)
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Strong experience with Jenkins pipelines, Groovy scripting, and CI/CD automation
• Experience with GitHub Actions and deployment automation
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
• Experience with Python Scripting and automation
• Experience with Chef Scripting and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of web services and platform troubleshooting
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams

Preferred:

• Experience working within regulated or enterprise-scale environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
