Job description

  • Lead Technical Architect | SAS Viya | Azure | SC Cleared
  • £595 per day
  • Remote first engagement
  • Travel only required for workshops or key meetings in either Newcastle, London, Manchester, Leeds or Birmingham
  • Initial contract until end of October 2026, Our client is a global technology and consulting organisation delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes across secure and highly regulated environments. They are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Architect to support the delivery of complex cloud and data platform solutions within a major enterprise programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile transformation initiatives involving SAS Viya, Azure, data integration, and enterprise architecture across hybrid environments.

THE LEAD TECHNICAL ARCHITECT ROLE:

As Lead Technical Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of complex architectures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will work closely with project delivery teams, stakeholders, and technical specialists to define scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions aligned to business objectives.

The role will involve architecture modelling, roadmap development, technical leadership, and translating business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions across data, analytics, integration, and cloud platforms.

You will also provide architectural governance and leadership while supporting Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies across the full project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Technical Architect or Solution Architect within enterprise environments
  • Experience with SAS Viya and wider SAS technologies
  • Strong Azure cloud experience
  • Experience designing architectures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
  • Strong understanding of ETL and data integration technologies
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, BI, analytics, and MI reporting solutions
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Experience with architecture modelling techniques and tools
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments
  • SC Clearance required
