Test Engineer - CBP public trust preferred

GDIT is seeking a manual functional Test Engineer to support one of our software delivery projects with a government client. This is a mission-driven program with a smart, engaged team of developers, analysts and testers. This position will increase your skillset with a variety of technical and functional challenges. The candidate must be local to the Ashburn, VA office US Citizenship required HOW A TEST ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACTWork with the development team to create test strategies and customized solutionsHelp collect and develop test data and technical information used for creating test suitesDocument test strategies and results as neededEngage with complex and data heavy test scenarios Required Education, Skills and Experience:Working knowledge of issue/bug tracking tools (such as Jira)Experience with testing web-based/cloud applicationsExperience writing new test cases and modifying existing onesExperience with writing SQL to query data from databasesAbility to collaborate with team members to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceededAbility to research problems, identify a root cause, and recommend and implement a solutionAptitude for picking up technology quickly along with a desire to learn and progressGood communication skills, both written and verbalDemonstrates a passion for solving complex software challenges, and enjoys working alongside fellow team members to make that happen WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:Bachelors degree and 2- 3 years of experience in a Java-based development environment, as a tester or other IT related roleExperience with creating test plans based on gathered requirements and documenting test resultsExperience with Agile methodologiesUnderstanding of relational database designExperience working with a government clientWork Location: Hybrid Ashburn, VA.
