Job description
Manager of Data Governance
A highly respected, rapidly growing organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Data Governance leader to help build and elevate data practices across the organization. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence how data is structured, trusted, and leveraged to support both operational and strategic initiatives., * Develop and formalize enterprise data governance frameworks, including policies, standards, and operating procedures
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive adoption of governance practices such as data cataloging, metadata management, data quality, and data privacy
- Collaborate with technology teams to implement and enhance data governance tools and platforms
- Analyze datasets to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and quality issues, and implement solutions to improve accuracy and completeness
- Establish governance structures, including committees and working groups, to drive alignment, ownership, and issue resolution
- Lead governance forums and cross-functional initiatives, ensuring transparency and progress against key priorities
- Translate complex data risks into clear business implications for leadership and stakeholders
- Define and execute both short- and long-term strategies to strengthen data integrity, consistency, and usability
- Monitor compliance with governance policies and ensure ongoing adherence across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, analytical, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related discipline
- Proven experience implementing data governance frameworks in large, complex environments
- Strong ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across business and technical teams
- Ability to translate complex data challenges into actionable business insights
Preferred Experience:
- Advanced degree in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with modern data platforms and cloud-based ecosystems (e.g., data warehousing, data cataloging, or governance tools)
