Job description
The Data Analyst Lead is responsible for proactively identifying impactful opportunities where analytics can inform the business and provide actionable insights to support business decisions and long-term strategy. Owns end-to-end analytics consultation and execution, supporting junior associates in problem framing, stakeholder intake, prioritization, and alignment of analytical work to business strategy and product outcomes., * Proactively identify opportunities with medium to broad impact where analytics can inform the business. Provide actionable insights to support business decisions and long-term strategy development, primarily by developing reports at scale, performing root cause, exploratory, sensitivity and scenario analysis, regression, and data visualization to identify patterns/trends/insights etc. on ambiguous business problems
- Consult with business owners to understand the business problem. Able to independently identify the appropriate analytic approach to solve the problem. Lead others through analytic approach and leverage systems thinking to connect work to other strategic initiatives.
- Leverage complex data from multiple sources as needed for analysis. Develop advanced logic to structure datasets for analysis.
- Understand and apply intermediate to advanced analytical concepts.
- Apply critical thinking to pressure test and validate logic and outputs against known sources and understanding of business..
- Serve as subject matter expert across a wide range of areas and have a solid knowledge on data relationship and flows including product, client, marketing, compliance, branch, etc.
- Consult on data and analytic requirements for database development and system changes..
- Maintain a strong understanding of firm results & key business drivers to be able to to apply understanding to analytic approach to influence and create key strategies and business performance.
- Develop, manage, and utilize business relationships and partnerships with cross-functional business owners, senior and executive leaders across the organization.
- Document, monitor, and proactively recommend improvements to processes and controls related to areas of responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required with an emphasis in finance, business, economics, data science, math or analytics preferred.
- 7+ years related analytical work experience
- 7+ years experience interacting with database systems (DB2, Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks)
- 7+ years experience using Microsoft Excel, including use of pivot tables, formulas, macros, vba, charts/graph
- Intermediate knowledge of statistical concepts and analytic techniques, including descriptive statistics, forecasting, exploratory analysis, and variance analysis required.
- Proficient with visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or MicroStrategy
- Strong analytical, critical and systems thinking required.
Functional knowledge:
- Advanced SQL experience for analytical use cases (Oracle SQL, Databricks) and strong proficiency in dashboard design (Tableau, Power BI), performance optimization, and data modeling for analytics consumption required. Advanced experience with data manipulation languages such as SQL, Python. Advanced knowledge of analytic techniques, including descriptive statistics, forecasting and modeling, regression techniques, and exploratory analysis.
