Job description
As a Professional Services Technical Consultant, you will design, develop, maintain, and support account reconciliation and positive pay solutions within the ARP/SMS platform from Fiserv. You will work directly with financial institution clients, internal delivery teams, and product stakeholders to deliver reliable mainframe-based solutions that support treasury management operations, exception processing, and reconciliation workflows. Your work will help clients manage critical transaction processing with accuracy, timeliness, and operational stability.
What you'll do:

Develop, modify, and maintain COBOL applications in an IBM z/OS environment supporting ARP/SMS batch and online processing

Configure and extend ARP/SMS functionality for positive pay reporting, same-day and next-day exception processing, and account reconciliation services

Customize file layouts, control tables, and reconciliation workflows to meet client business requirements for partial and full deposit reconciliation

Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents involving ARP/SMS jobs, Customer Information Control System (CICS) transactions, file transfers, and data integrity issues

Optimize COBOL programs, Job Control Language (JCL), and Database 2 (DB2) or Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) access methods to improve online performance and batch efficiency

Create and maintain technical specifications, runbooks, and workflow documentation to support implementation and ongoing production support

Collaborate with clients, internal delivery teams, and product stakeholders to define requirements, validate solutions, and support successful delivery
Requirements
-
5+ years of experience developing and supporting mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment using COBOL, JCL, TSO/ISPF, CICS, and VSAM
-
5+ years of experience working with account reconciliation, positive pay, or treasury management processing in a financial services environment
-
4+ years of experience troubleshooting production incidents, resolving batch and online processing issues, and supporting data integrity in mainframe systems

Experience configuring and supporting ARP/SMS modules, including positive pay exception reporting, reconciliation cycles, file layouts, and control tables

Experience using debugging and analysis tools such as Xpediter, InterTest, or similar mainframe diagnostic tools

Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions for batch and online processing workflows

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience
Experience that would be great to have:

Experience with additional Fiserv mainframe products such as PEP+ Experience using Endevor, Changeman, or similar source code management tools

Exposure to Agile or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes in a mainframe environment

Knowledge of check processing lifecycle, positive pay matching logic, and treasury management reconciliation workflows

Salary Range
$90,000.00 - $144,000.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
