Job description
LPL Financial is seeking an AVP, Cloud Lead to join our Technology organization. Reporting to the Application Development Manager, this role partners closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions aligned with product roadmaps and LPL's long-term technology vision.
This position is ideal for a hands-on cloud engineering leader who thrives in complex environments, values collaboration, and is passionate about building high-quality, resilient platforms that meet enterprise standards while enabling innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, enterprise-class applications in cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from concept through deployment and support
- Architect solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and cloud best practices
- Build and support highly scalable core platform components used across applications and services
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical debugging support
- Evaluate new design proposals and recommend improvements that enhance scalability, performance, and reliability
- Assist with conceptual designs and rough-order-of-magnitude (ROM) effort estimates
- Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date technical documentation
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Release Management, and Change Control to ensure smooth delivery

Requirements
- 7+ years of full-stack application development experience using C#, Angular (or similar), and relational databases
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing solutions in cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as ECS/EKS, Fargate, VPC, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, IAM, EC2, and Lambda
- Advanced SQL development experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL, including complex query design
- 8+ years of experience contributing to software architecture and product-based application development
Preferences
- Cloud developer or engineer certification (AWS preferred)
- Experience delivering solutions in an Agile development environment
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, API-driven systems, and event-streaming platforms (Kafka and/or StreamSets a plus)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers through technical leadership
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change

Benefits & conditions
$154,500.00 - $257,500.00
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
