As a Senior Release Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, reliable software that supports Schwab's mission. You will help design and evolve release practices that prioritize automation, stability, transparency, and continuous improvement-while working closely with engineering, operations, and platform partners.
What You'll Do:
- Define and evolve release processes byestablishingclear, consistent, and repeatable practices
- Drive documentation and enablement across teams
- Build and enhance automated CI/CD pipelines
- Partner closely with software engineers and platform teams
- Manage end-to-end release cycles
- Monitorrelease health using metrics and observability tools
- Champion continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in release engineering, SRE, or software delivery roles
- Experience in regulated environments preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of release engineering and SDLC practices
- Hands-on experience with automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Windows and Linux environments
- SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, Bamboo
- Public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP); Snowflake exposure a plus
- Control-M or similar scheduling tools
- Programming or scripting languages
- AI-assisted development tool
